I downloaded this yesterday, and it’s a pretty fun listen. It also reinforces “You Gave Your Love To Me Softly” as one of my favorite Weezer songs.

Wow, and the “club” mix of “The World Has Turned And Left Me Here” rules too!

I really didn’t like “El Scorcho” at all. It just drained all the energy out of it.

Well, this is about 50 times more awesome than I expected it to be. What exactly do they mean by “original video game hardware”? I’ve never really given much thought towards how Nintendo music was created, but now my interest is piqued.

There are a few things… one is LSDJ which is a burned gameboy cart you can get that turns your gameboy into a sequencer. I don’t know the name of the Nintendo cartridge, but you can do something similar with that. I think most dudes, though. flat out program the music for the Nintendo as it’s supposed to be easier than on the gameboy. Same with the commodore and the atari.

I reaaaaaally like 8-bit music (otherwise known as “chip music”).

So is that how the original Nintendo game music was created? I am assuming this is a result of the medium – i.e. you couldn’t use a synthesizer and somehow download the music to the cartridge back then?

Wisdom

Whenever I dwell for any length of time on my own shortcomings, they gradually begin to seem mild, harmless, rather engaging little things, not at all like the staring defects in other people’s characters.
