Philadelphia's 22 Notable Burgers
22 burgers worth trying in Philadelphia. I’m thinking I should make it a 22 burgers in 22 days marathon.

Oh my god, I want to do 22 burgers in 22 days. I’m confident my stomach can handle it.
Of these, I’ve had all of the burgers that Reggie’s had, but I’ve also had: Barclay Prime’s, Honey’s Sit-n-Eat’s, London Grill’s, Matyson’s, Royal Tavern’s, Silk City, and Standard Tap’s. Every single one was delicious. I think that of all of them, I was least impressed with London Grill’s, but it was still head and shoulders above most burgers I’ve had.
I love burgers.
I like beef in all it’s forms and styles…..I like all other uses for ground beef (meatballs, meat loaf, etc.)……I like all the stuff that can and does go with a burger (roll, ketchup, cheese, onions, mushrooms, etc.)… which is why when I see burgers I always think they are going to be appealing to me and in theory they should be . But when I actually eat one……best case scenario it’s a “meh” reaction, most of the time it is downright dislike. I think we’ve discussed this on here, and I can enjoy a crappy, thin patty burger. But the whole big thick and juicy burger does nothing for me.
I’ve had what I’ve been told are phenomenal burgers by people who love good burgers. And at some very reputable places. I keep trying. They just don’t do it for me.
I think it has to do with the fact that beef in general is best on the medium/rare side and that includes burgers. And I can eat my steak that way. But with the looser texture and consistency of a thick burger (as opposed to meatballs and meatloaf which get packed tighter and also are better with thorough cooking) coupled with the optimal cook time/temperature…..just not appealing to me.

though i do like burgers, i can see your point. i have the same opinion on curries – i cannot seem to find one i enjoy enough to try more than once. this was very frustrating whilst living in England.
