Either you people haven’t watched this, or you have and just don’t think Ze Frank is funny. Either way, I hate you. Cause this guy kills me.
FINE, I’ll take the bait. I’m sorry for what I’m about to say:
Ze Frank is funny person, but has a terrible aim with his tone. He probably read some Jacques Derrida in college and had it destroy his brain. He’ll think up a funny declarative and then exhaustively pick it to pieces so he can show some fundamental absurdity everybody had already noticed in the first place.
He’s Awkward Comedy Dad. He’ll carefully explain every joke to make sure you got it. No need to meet him halfway, he doesn’t trust you to do the heavy lifting.
He likely fancies himself a “rubber faced” comedian, but this bizarre and creepy vanity keeps seeping through. He’s cataloging every pore, even line around his mouth and nose and eyes, carefully obsessing over his biology like some comedic David Cronenberg. Strange.

You have pointed out many of the things I absolutely love about him, Justin. Maybe I’m doomed to be an awkward comedy dad.
But did you watch this video? Most if not all of the Hard Times videos feature little to no “CLOSEUPONMYFACEWHILEITALKATYOU” type stuff. They’re just fun little things with a voice over.
