Screen Printing/Team Jerseys
Does anyone here do any screen printing?
I am researching the purchase of jerseys for my hockey team and I’m trying to do it on the cheap. I know some of you guys are into arts and crafts kind of stuff so I figured I would ask if anyone had the capability to screen print a logo or just numbers and stuff. Even a link to where you got your softball jerseys would be cool, assuming whoever made them did a good job.
Also, if any of you artsy types are feeling particularly bored sometime, my team wants to re-design our logo but noone has the talent to do so. Our team is called the Hudson Hogs, and our two existing logos are an interlocking H thing and this weird warthog looking character. Someone on the team thought it would be funny to change our logo to a silhouette of a fat chick floating on the Hudson River with the NYC skyline behind her, and I tend to agree. If one of you guys (Sammy? Justin?) would like to draw something like that up in your spare time that would be awesome. Do you normally charge a fee for such services?

the best way to approach an artist with this is:
“we need this done! we will pay you and/or somehow otherwise make it worth your while!”
i don’t screen-print or do many logos, but no self-respecting artist is going to do a job for free & out of boredom. craigslist is full of ads wishing for them to do so. it’s laughable.
posting it here is a bit of a different animal, i’m just venting a bit.
I used vgkids.com to screen print the front. They were super cheap ($7 a shirt) and really high quality. In my research, however, if you want to get names and numbers, the price jumps up to $20 cause you have to find little specialty shops. So that’s why we opted for spray-and-stencil for the backs.
And while the backs look pretty awesome, they also look pretty messy. Even our cleanest ones look like a weak Ralph Steadman portrait. If I were really concerned about the backs looking clean, I’d probably go with iron-ons.

it was messy because i didn’t do it.
Hey, you know where I live. Shoulda come. And brought all of Dr. Who. Summer vacation and all.
shoot me a text next time you are up to something crafty (and directions, as i’ve never been to your house). i will gladly lend you all of Doctor Who.
I know this is probably way after the fact, but my crew team and I use Customink.com for our “fun shirts” We do the same thing – order shirts all the same and stencil/spray paint names and numbers on.
I think to add names and numbers on it’s only like 4 bucks extra, and the price you pay includes shipping which is kind of cool. Plus they have safety green, the only choice when in combination with Oakley Blades (or blade knockoffs) provide maximum intimidation potential.
