is a singer who i got into last year
when her album “worrisome heart” came out.
she’s only like 23 or 24 and she’s from philly and i heard an interview with her on xpn last year about how she got into an accident when she was a teenager and turned to music therapy while forced to stay at home and recover.
i heard the song i’ve posted below yesterday and fucking fell in love with her voice again. she does amazing things with it. it has such an old, jazzy feel and i had to look it up to see that it was in fact, from this decade.
i think it’s such a positive throwback – nothing like amy winehouse or adele.

I listened to that interview, too. Didn’t she lay on a bed with a guitar on her stomach, because that was the only way it was comfortable with all her injuries? Very inspiring.
