Science! and zombies!

I went to a screening of “Night of the Living Dead” about a week ago and before the movie, a Harvard psychiatrist spoke about the neuroscience of zombie behavior. It was pretty freaking cool.

He answered questions like:

  • What would the brain of a zombie look like? * Why are zombies so (physically) unbalanced? * Why are they always hungry?
  • Why do normal people, in the absence of being infected, descend to sub-
cortical zombie behavior in almost every zombie movie?
  • And just what is it about the concept of the living dead that continually fascinates audiences?

I wonder, after hearing all the explanations, if a zombie attack is more likely than we’ve thought before.

It’s been forwarded to him and his research team. Thank you so much!

Can I be on your boyfriend’s research team? I’ll bring my own popcorn.

Okay, PhD, sweet, does he also have a full-time job? I’m just curious. I want one of those degrees.

I opened-up a yogurt, underneath the lid it said, “Please try again.” because they were having a contest that I was unaware of. I thought maybe I opened the yogurt wrong. …Or maybe Yoplait was trying to inspire me… “Come on Mitchell, don’t give up!” An inspirational message from your friends at Yoplait, fruit on the bottom, hope on top.
