We never replenish the resources we pull from the sea. The tuna you typically eat are around 30 years old; they’re not exactly as renewable a resource as we think.
Again, the case of the orange ruffie: a species of fish sold for $9.99 a pound… despite the typical age of the fish being around 100 years old. So… you overfish a fish that took 100 years to grow? Talk about wiping out species on a whim.
