If you're planning on buying Slumdog Millionaire
Don’t! I just put the DVD in to watch the special features, since I’ve seen the movie twice recently. It advertises a making-of featurette, commentary, 12 deleted scenes, and More! Unfortunately, Fox screwed up and sent out discs where the only special feature on the disc is trailers for other movies. Fox has already set up a hotline for a replacement disc, but any DVD on the shelf now may be screwed up. So save yourself the hassle I’m about to go through trying to get a replacement

Second time in the last month I’ve been ripped off by a movie studio putting out DVDs. I’ve been dying to see Let The Right One In, so I picked up the DVD and was about to watch it, to find an article showing how the studio replaced the original theatrical subtitles with a dumbed down version, I guess for us dumb Americans. They’re going to fix that too, but unfortunately if you bought it already you’re SOL.
You should have posted earlier. Hutch and I just watched Let the Right One In the other night… I wouldn’t have sent it back (via Netflix). It may be dumbed down, but at least it would have been free.
Also, Hutch and I noticed a striking disparity between the dubbed words and the subtitles. We knew one of them was lying to us. I guess now we know which. A shame, since the American voice acting was terrible (as usual).
Yeah, here’s the original article on Let The Right One In with tons of screen shots for examples:
