I have to say, I’m really impressed with the look of KDE 4. I hadn’t used it since version 3 and it felt really clunky. If I were on a PC, I would most likely ditch my windows install and go with KDE.
(if anyone’ interested in the latter, you can try a http://www.kubuntu.org/ — just burn a disc and start it with it in your machine to try it out.)
MP3 playback is a good way to prove me wrong. Because of licensing issues, the libraries various pieces of software use to decode and playback mp3 aren’t included. So you have to grab that shit yourself. It might be available on apt-get. The nice thing about ubuntu is if you want to install softare, you just open up your terminal and type
apt-get install softwarename
and it finds it and installs it.
