A show starring the dad from Malcolm in the Middle as a high school chemistry teacher who finds out he has terminal lung cancer so to provide for his pregnant wife and crippled kid after he dies he does what any chemistry teacher would do. Decides to start cooking meth!
Seriously though, it is a great show on AMC. Bryan Cranston is just fantastic in it. Worth a look.

I completely disregarded this post when it was made, then I followed a Netflix generated recommendation and checked this show out. It’s fantastic. The pilot episode is absolutely perfect television.
I haven’t watched this yet, but it’s on my queue. The amount of positive buzz around this series is insane, one of my favorite pop-culture blogs declares that Bryan Cranston’s acting and his character’s arc are so fully, perfectly realized that it blows everything else on TV out of the water.
I’m really excited about checking this out.
OK. I’m now just about finished with season 2 of this show. I’m rushing through the DVDs so that I can watch as much of season 3 “live” as possible.
I just got finished watching the episode “4 Days Out” and it took every ounce of strength in my body to hold myself back from bawling at the end. Now, that reaction is 100% due to the investment I’ve made in the characters through watching the whole series, so don’t take this as a cue to watch this particular episode as an intro to the show.
But, bottom line, do what you need to do to get into it. This show is fucking awesome.
Love the show. My only compliant is that walt white can be unsympathetic because he’s an entire bag of dicks. I know he’s “breaking bad” and all, but still. Also people think that Rita from Dexter is annoying, Skylar acts like an 8 year old throughout most of season 2, and is way more annoying than Rita.

Not sure what you’re saying here. Do you mean that you have a hard time feeling sympathy for Walt because you think he’s an asshole, or that his character is unsympathetic towards others in the show? If the former, I completely disagree. I’ve never had cancer or cooked meth, but I sympathize with this guy every second I’m watching the show. I actually think that’s a huge part of why Breaking Bad is so great.
I haven’t started Dexter yet so I can’t comment on the Rita comparison, but I can’t fault Skyler for any of her actions. That chick has got it pretty rough.

Gotcha man. I appreciate you holding back on the spoilers. I have three more season 2 episodes to get through and then I have this season DVRed. I’m hoping to be current in about a week.
