John is hungry

Glenn Beck's War Room.

Has anyone heard of this garbage? Stephen Colbert has made me aware and for that I am sad. Laughing, but mostly sad.

That’s the same dude that used to have a show on CNN or MSNBC I think. When I listen to stuff like that and Hannity and O’Reilly I find myself infinitely amused by their unhinged characters and absolutely am convinced that none of them believe even half of what they’re saying. But then I remember that there are probably a few million people out there who do believe it and are being egged on by these guys.

Also, I love how this guy and all the others are the ones who were declaring over the past 8 years that even the mildest form of even questioning the president was tantamount to treason and now these same guys are on the air every day practically calling for revolution against the government. Irony is not dead.

kevin, thats exactly like calling out the people in the media (and not) that immediately decried bush but today are saying “come on, give the guy a chance”.

It’s not at all. Kev’s complaint is the hypocrisy of people who claimed that attacking Bush was treason but are now attacking Obama.

and im pointing out the hypocrisy of people that immediately attacked bush that are now saying that you have to give a guy a chance before judging how he will perform.

sorry, its the same thing.

But… those people aren’t Kev. He’s not saying that at all.

Yeah, 1) that’s not me like John said, and 2)I’m talking about a big difference between just basic political posturing of talking heads which is to be expected and calling people traitors for criticizing the president in even the mildest terms (which all the people I mentioned did), and then calling for people to basically revolt against the president and his policies (which they are now doing) and presenting that as a patriotic action.

If you can point me to a media personality who are now calling anti-Obama critics traitors to their county as was done to people during Bushor who back then were calling for people to revolt in the style of the Boston Tea Party or whatever they’re yapping about now, I’d be more than happy to condemn that person’s stupidity as well.

And no, I don’t mean some anonymous blogger or commentor on a message board. I mean someone with a dedicated half hour to hour show on a major tv channel. Even the token liberals on tv (Olberman, Maddow) don’t call Obama critics traitors.

But yes, yes I know “both sides do it blah blah blah .”

i never said he did, i was just stating that there is an equal amount of hypocrisy on the other side of things. i think my first statement said it poorly but my second on stated it better.

actually beck spent most of bushes second term criticizing him as well, so i guess he considers himself a traitor? i don’t know about the first term though, my listening to his show only started around the 04 election. since then ive heard the guy more often than not complain about both sides of the aisle and declare the system broken.

i also agree that they probably don’t buy some of what they are saying, or maybe they do the idea but not how they lay it out in their shows, but their in show business, if they dont trump it up a little how are they to entertain? their not news people, the are just commentators.
