Bill sets a beeline for the wine

New Jersey wine connoisseurs could soon have cases of their favorite product shipped directly from Napa Valley vineyards to their front doors, under proposed legislation that would lift the state’s direct-shipping ban on wine.

“Everything’s (about) the California wines, why can’t it be the New Jersey wines that are talked about around the country?” said Sweeney, D-3, of West Deptford.

Hahahahahahhahahahhahahaha! Really, dude? Really?

Yep, that worked! It has the Gov holding up a glass of Chambourcin, which seems to be the only palatable grape that can grow in NJ, and it doesn’t taste very much like what the rest of the world knows as “wine.” Most NJ wines, because of the climate and humidity, end up tasting like juice. I haven’t had heritage station, but unless they’ve got some super-advanced climate control science going on over there, there’s no way they can produce grapes that aren’t too sweet or juice-like. Chambourcin is the exception because it’s supposed to taste a bit juicier.

they do have a super-advanced climate control science going on, its in the basement. they make a real good fruit wine, blueberry being my favorite. are you opposed to fruit wines?

Nope, not at all. I like my wine to taste like wine and my juice to taste like juice and never the twain shall meet. I haven’t tried ice wine, though, and I really want to try it just to see what sort of impact the freezing has on the grape.

That said, I’m going to complete 180 and say that I’ve very interested in trying this thing they do in a lot of spanish countries where they mix shitty box wine with coke. I think it’s called a calimoxo.

I have, and it’s not “good” to me.

Right right, but let’s forget the whole “taste is relative” thing here for the sake of discussion: have you ever had well-made wine recommended by someone who knows wine and had it paired with the proper foods, no less?

I mean, I feel like you’re someone who respects the collective intelligence to a degree and for you to be so passe about something such a huge portion of humanity is so passionate about, it seems out of character.

I have had well-made wine. My taste buds do not react accordingly. I have not had wine paired will well-made food. I am not brushing the importance of wine aside, but I also don’t have interest in it.
