I had me some poutine at Whistler over the weekend, and it made disco fries seem like rice cakes by comparison. I don’t care how disgusting “cheese curd” sounds.

Every piece of cheese you have ever eaten was curd at some point. The shit that’s in poutine just isn’t additionally processed after it curdles, at least not as much as cheese that you get in a block or in slices. Poutine is the best.
I want it so bad. Where’s The Whistler? I want to go to there.
It’s in British Columbia, about 2 hours north of Vancouver. And it is consistently listed as the, or one of the best ski resorts in the world.
And it was fucking awesome, like so much so that I considered calling my job to say I quit and getting a job as a janitor or lift operator or something.
My Canadian friend just gave me a can of poutine. The label is all in French. It’s been sitting on my shelf for about a month now.

Fresh cheese curds are the best! You can get them at Wegman’s or Trader Joe’s. Just make sure they squeak.
I went to Quebec last year for the carnival and had lots of poutine. They even sell it at McDonalds!

Yeah. Poutine in a can would be the worst thing ever. The fries need to be crisp and the cheese needs to be squeaky and semi-melty.
That’s twice now that someone has mentioned “squeaky”.
If they don’t squeak, they aren’t fresh, so don’t bother eating them.
