philly beer week is back
definitely going to some of these events
it’s march 6 to the 15. two weekends. and here is the link. there are many, many beer specials and there are different events each day, like $25 all you can eat and drink at devil’s alley or no repeat beer at memphis tap room (when one keg kicks, they open something new), or a “cooking with beer” event at triumph! let’s pick a few and go.

Chris Bauweraerts – Brasserie d’Achouffe
That’s almost enough to sell me right there. If you have never indulged in any of the Achouffe line, I highly recommend it.
Also, I’ve recently become a fan of Sly Fox out of Royersford, PA, especially the Ichor Quad. Have any of you ever tried it, or any of their other stuff?
I just bought tickets for the Philly Craft Beer Festival night session on March 7 (http://www.phillycraftbeerfest.com). Anybody else going?
This is going to be my first time but it sounds like a lot of fun. You get a 6 oz souvenir glass and plenty of breweries from around the country are going to be here. I’m pretty excited.
A complete brewery/programming list is on the site also.
Get tickets fast though. The afternoon session is already sold out.

This is what I would be most interested in going to, but if it’s anything like the NY Craft Beer Festival then I’m not sure I’m interested. The NYC one was like a giant frat party, except instead of dudes pouring Miller Light on each other they were using great beer that they didn’t deserve to be drinking in the first place. It would have been one of the most awful experiences of my life if I wasn’t with a girl and/or wasn’t very drunk by the end of it.
Is the Philly one a little less intense?

I’ve heard from friends that the afternoon session is a little more frat boy-ish, while the night session is a bit older/more sophisticated.
I have tickets for the night session, so we’ll see what happens…

i drank beer in some of the nicest and shittiest pubs in England everyday for about a year and a half. usually against my better judgement.
kev’s even worse off in that respect.
however i’ll be working for most of Beer Week. maybe we’ll go down tomorrow and play.

I went to Germany too, same trip though. Dusseldorf was sweet, but it’s not the same as Oktoberfest I’m sure. I’m looking to go to Munich this year though. You in?
Note: I am in Weehawken, not Philly. I am a flake that makes empty promises.

i didn’t plan on going to this, and honestly i have little desire. but someone just gave me a free ticket so it looks like i’m going
also, philly started this. so i’d imagine it will be worse that the new york experience you mentioned. or maybe that means it will be better. i doubt it.
