Well, it KIND of has music.. If the one time I breezed by it, it involves music videos and fan’s reactions/renditions of it (read: teeny boppers pretending they’re the ting tings)
Here’s the Wikipedia page:

Too bad they show it when everyone’s asleep. I know that NO ONE really wants to see music on Music Television.
Other than that, all they show is those clips of new music during credits of crappy reality shows.

The programming does get repetitive, but it’s at least something.
Yeah, late at night I just have that, VH1 Soul, VH1 Classic, or there’s a few other stations in that area that plays videos. You’re almost guaranteed to see Young Jeezy telling you about how his president is black and his lambo is blue (that video gets played a lot).
i bet this wasn’t in mtv’s original business plan. they surely have changed with the times – and successfully. good for them as a business. bad for us as human beings trying to start families in this world. if you wanna watch music videos, put on MTV Hits channel. if you wanna watch tila tequila, put on mtv.
I don’t even mind it on the surface. Vh1 is also mostly reality programming at this point as well but I find their shows slightly less offensive (likely because of my age). Even when I happen upon certain MTV shows I can manage to be amused (Made, Parental Control, etc.). But the ones that either center on from the start or forcefully create faux celebrities who are famous just for being famous (see anyone from the Hills, or that toxic assclown Brodi Jenner) make me want to stab myself in the face.
parental control is one of the ones that amuses you? i can’t get into that one, because it’s obviously so scripted. like, these parents are in on it, too?? it’s bad enough their 19 year olds are like this, but they have to aid and abet by participating, as well??
made, however, is cool. it’s about kids accomplishing things. and those things are not making sexually suggestive comments while having strawberries and whipped cream on makeshift beaches while one of them actually has a significant other but is going on some other date with some bro or ho.
i like “next.” i just think it’s funny when someone finally gets fed up with someone else and tells them so. it’s so defeating and i like watching people get upset.
I think the one thing I give parental control credit for is that they have gay kids on it, and the whole thing is presented as it should be, like any other relationship with the parents having the same issues they do with their straight kids douchey girlfriends/boyfriends and trying to set them up the same way. Yeah, it’s scripted and it’s idiotic but for that aspect alone I kind of find it refreshing.
That Next show does the same thing.
John said:Having seen a few gay/lesbion episodes of both shows, I still can’t decide if they were, as a whole, good or bad for sexual tolerance seeing as they find the most intolerable people on earth.
Yeah, but given that anyone appearing on those shows in the first place, gay, straight, bi, whatever are the most intolerable people on earth……
So I was at the gym this morning at 5AM and caught this FNMTV, which is apparently the only music show left on that channel and it doesn’t even show full videos. It’s like commercials for videos that show only around a minute of each one. Seriously pathetic. Not that anything I saw I would have wanted to watch for much more than that, but still.
