of montreal are a band that got me through high school, and i think they are great and am definitely going to see them. and even i think some critics should calm the fuck down. mostly because they have been around for 15 years and people are JUST catching up to their wackiness?

Overrate: have a higher opinion of something than is deserved.
Nowhere in the definition of the word does it specify the actual value of the thing being overrated. Overrated does not mean “good, but not as good as they say.” It simply means “not that good as they say.”

Also, Of Montreal just isn’t that good, AND, AS WELL, IN ADDITION TO THAT, they’re overrated.
Hutch’s opinions are overrated. And not that good.
They may not be that good, but if anything, they’re underrated. No one likes them!
I don’t know, as much as I agree with John that Of Montreal isn’t good AND is overrated, I don’t think that Christina’s definition was wrong. It was just wrong in relation to Of Montreal.
