Julia has overdosed on nerds

HD TV

So..I watched The Office and 30 Rock last night..

…on the most ridiculous TV. A friend of mine just got one of those Samsung TOC 40 inchers. He said something about it having a “high refresh rate”. Anyway, long story short, I actually got nauseous during a scene where the characters were running around. Has anyone seen this? It’s ridiculous! I mean, I’ve watched plenty of games and TV in HD before, but this was truly unlike anything I’ve seen…

High refresh rate nothing. It’s pretty standard. It’s just a 1080p TV which is the highest resolution of HD. Gos and I were debating whether or not to get 1080p or 720p and we opted for 720p cause standard definition TV looks like ass on most 1080p TVs.

I wasn’t sure what the deal was.. I had watched tons of stuff on full on HDtvs, and I’ve NEVER seen anything like this. I mean, I could see pores!

Though I did watch a little Planet Earth after the shows, and that was ah-MA-zing

the first time we watched a blu-ray movie on our hdtv (samsung toc 52"), i was totally unnerved by it. everything looked far too real and window-like. i got used to it, though it was weird having Pan’s Labyrinth look like it was going to eat us.
