That’s a really cool link. While my problems with the Catholic church are many (abortion, gay rights, hypocracy on the death penalty, etc.) and first hand, one of the positive things I can say as compared to a lot of other religions and specifically christian sects is that they are by and large not biblical literalists (I’ve met a few exceptions). And also they’re not hung up on the notion of being saved or that if someone isn’t a Christian that they are going to hell.

Holy shit. I have to get some time to watch this whole movie, but that clip is awesome. I’ve actually met a lot of priests like that who have a similar take on things.
Holy shit that priest was awesome. He really reminds me quite a bit (of what I remember anyhow) of the priests I hung out with and got drunk with in Berlin. For all I know, I could have been telling him my martian dog eats cupcakes or something since Gosia was translating my drunken english to Polish for a German priest, but the guy said a lot of very similar things.
