Yeah it’s scary that this happened, especially so close to home, but maybe this will get people at the city movie theaters to quiet down.
Also, how did I know the shooter had the gun clipped to a pair of sweatpants?

Yes, yes, I can see how this would happen. I’ve never walked out of a movie and I almost walked out of The Dark Knight. There was a family of 5 (including 3 children under the age of 10) that were talking and whimpering the entire time. That is, the times that they weren’t chewing their popcorn so loudly that it sounded like moths chewing their way out of my brain.
So I’m at the local mega-mondo-plex watching Gran Torino again on the 70ft screen when this little baby in the 5th row starts crying. About 2 minutes later – and I have never witnessed this ever before – some guy yells clearly and loudly, “Take the kid out!”
Three or 4 other guys, all guys, chime in yelling “Yeah!” and “Take it outside!”and the embarrassed mom ran out with the kid.
It was weird, but kinda cool…
jason, i WISH that happened all the time. that’s why i loved the Ritz theaters in philly. they don’t allow kids in under the age of 6 – no exceptions. it’s the best policy ever. they also get away with it because no kids would want to see their arthouse films anyway, bu people still tried.
