Need some computer help
I encountered a website that contained some Trojans that my McAfee took care of, but I’m still getting pop up windows while searching the Internet, something that has not happened before. And my web speed is significantly slower than before. Seeing as how I believe everyone here is infinitely more computer literate than I am, I come to you for advice.

Do you use Firefox? If so, install the NoScript add-on. It’ll block everything at first, but as you browse you can set what you want it to allow and it eventually becomes the best filter ever. Worked perfectly for me.

The no-script add on was no good. I went through your thread and started going through the processes but was a little afraid to stop too many things for fear of the death of my laptop. I disabled everything at the startup through msconfig, but a message popped up saying that I needed adminstrative status to disable a few startup programs labeled “merumebe” and “yomabone”, running through Rundll32.exe. Considering I don’t allow anyone else on here, I thought that was kinda suspicious. Also downloaded ad-aware, tried a scan and still get the pop up problem. My next course of action is to possibly go into safe mode and find the file that may be hidden somewhere. I barely would know what I’d be doing, I saw it once done on my other computer.
And, amazingly, it wasn’t a porn site that caused the virus to happen. Just so you know
“yo-ma-bone” is clearly a real file, not related to porn.
I still think the problem is Anti-Virus software, haha.
or… could I try to do a system restore to possibly go back to the settings a few days ago?
