this is fucked up. food in this country needs to become more regionalized. nobody in philadelphia should be eating berries in december. unless they were smart and froze them in august.
I completely agree. I really need to get that produce bible (or something like it) that Sammy has. I have no idea what various plants’ regions and season are.

I volunteer at the Fair Food Farmstand at the Reading Terminal Market and it’s a great place. Everything comes from local farms within 150 miles of the city, with the exception of salmon and some sea salt. All the people working or volunteering are really into supporting local agriculture. We even sell raw milk! Stop by!

It’s open on Saturdays and Sundays! I think I was just trying to encourage local produce even while living in an urban area. There is a CSA in Collingswood; maybe there is one close to where you live John?

i’ve been wanting to join a CSA for years, luke! however, you get so much food and i don’t quite know how to cook it all. maybe we can look into splitting it (and you can give me some tips, haha)?
