Q-Tip - The Renaissance
I’m on my third glass of wine and I’m listening to a hip hop album I’m really enjoying right now. So any attempt at explaining why I like it would surely result in a nonsensical string of caps-locked superlatives and swear words that could not and should not ever be taken seriously. Something like:
> FUCK. FUCKING FUCK! THIS IS SO FUCKING GOOD. HOLY SHIT. I can’t believe how good this album is! Album of the year? BEST HIP HOP ALBUM OF THE DECADE?! THE FUTURE OF HIP HOP! MY FAITH IN THE GENRE RESTORED! ALL HAIL Q-TIP! SHIT! FUCK YOUR ASSFACE!
So I’m not going to do that. Instead I’m just going to tell you that you should maybe go listen to this album cause it’s really enjoyable and maybe you’ll like it, too. Note the tags.

Seriously, the first track makes me squint cause I can’t handle it. I can’t handle how good it is. It’s beyond comprehension. I have to concentrate on how good it is and it’s hard cause it’s so good.
I rather enjoyed it. Nothing extraordinary in my mind, but it was easy to vibe to especially given the weather around here. Overall, I’m more of a uptempo kind of guy, but I’ll definitely listen again.
