It’s such an obvious sham, it baffles me why nothing’s been done. It’s not exactly a secret. “Security theater” has been covered by plenty of major media networks considerably more mainstream than The Atlantic (no disrespect to The Atlantic, mind you — I love them). So why hasn’t anyone forced a change?

I’ve just given up on caring what I bring, the last flight I took I had a lighter in my pocket, and cologne, toothpaste, and some other shit in my carry on.
