UNBELIEVABLE. THAT’S ALL I GOT.
It’s approximately 6 hours since Lidge through that final slider… and I can honestly say that I sit here in my bed with tears in my eyes because I am so happy that the Phillies won. Call it corny, but that’s what it means to me.
it’s 8:16 a.m. and i’ve been awake since 6:15 this morning. i didn’t go to bed until 4 a.m. i can’t sleep and i can’t stop watching highlights.
God Damn Boston reporters. Everytime they mentioned the Phills winning, they had to follow it up with “gee it stings watching all those people in the street” or “don’t you wish that was happening in Boston”. Seriously?! I was the only Phills fan in the bar last night, and one guy came over to me and was like “You know this was the least watched World Series ever, right?” Like right after they won. I wanted to punch him right in the face. Needless to say, I took my celebration to the bitter cold outside and proceeded to scream into my phone for the next half hour or so. I may have been crying, but that could also have been a reaction to the 30 MPH wind gusts.
That being said, please post some more pictures up. They’re not showing any of the fun up here.

You know what, in all seriousness I’m happy for everyone. I still don’t get the whole deal in general and I mock it in jest the same way I do with my NY sports fan family members. But just like when they have cause to celebrate, my bottom line is anything that makes people happy and feel good about something by default makes me happy. So congratulations.

I didn’t know it was happening, it was apparently a last minute setup. I didn’t know he was coming until he was there.
He couldn’t talk because there was little kids sitting near me, but I’ve talked to him before. And after the game he was pitching the first puck out at the Phantoms game, where I was headed, and he left me a note saying how much fun it was.
