I work for the government.
Awful. I know. But I have my reasons. The absolutely ridiculous volume of training they force me to complete year in and year out is definitely not among them, however. Until now.

I don’t know if this is on a secure server or not, but if you guys can access this, I highly recommend it. It contains some interesting information, and it’s definitely sad to think about stuff like this actually happening. But, I find the implication that government employees are so prone to involvement in such a thing that we all need to take a training course on it every year to be hilarious. I mean, there has to be some hard data showing why this training is necessary to justify the expense, because, you know, the government never wastes money.
The “choose your own adventure” animation in the “Prevention” module is a lot of fun.

The choose your own adventure part was fun. I wish it showed what would happen if you tried to free the little boy chained to the sink instead of just saying you shouldn’t get involved directly.
This subject makes me think more about legalized prostitution. Would it make trafficking less appealing or would it make it easier for traffickers because they could hide behind a legal, legitimate business? It also makes me think about why guys have to pay for sex. There seem to be plenty of girls in Philadelphia who will have sex for free.
That is pretty silly. I thought it was wierd that I had to know the safe way to be around rocket fuel and radioactive material in a TV station.
I imagine every government employee takes that because it never occurred to some retarded beaurocrat that people aren’t typically trafficked through government offices.

That’s really an interesting question. Does the free market take over and then competition would drive out the “inferior product”. I realize it’s kind of harsh to classify people as products, but that’s what they are in that industry.
I really for the life of me don’t understand why prostitution is illegal anyway. I would personally never take part because it grosses me out, but if everything is consensual then I don’t see why the government cares. Is it a measure to prevent things like human trafficking, I wonder?

By my definition, yes. A person in that situation doesn’t have to choose that route. It may seem like that’s the only job they can get, but there are always other options. I can only imagine the tax revenue that would come of this as well.
Are there always other options for certain people? I ask this because I used to work with foreign nurses trying to get jobs in the United States. I met a lot of Chinese women who had trouble getting through my company because of the language barrier and because the Chinese government wouldn’t supply the required documents. My CEO would say that they could get jobs, just not as nurses. It really bothers me to think of women having to work in spas and as prostitutes because going through the proper channels is so difficult.
Also, even if prostitution is legalized, there will always be people who want to sleep with children, so there will always be a need for trafficking. I wonder if there is any information about this in countries that do have legalized prostitution?
