The Elephant Six Holiday Surprise
Christina is coming up to visit me and we’re going to this extravaganza. There is a movie premiere and orchestral performances as well as songs bu many bands of the collective that I’ve listened to, heard of, and been meaning to get.
i.e. Oliver Tremor Control, Elf Power, The Gerbils
It should be a fun time and I want theScrabbled community to get your collective conscience on and hope for a Neutral Milk Hotel appearance.

Yeah I don’t know I never mentioned this. Here are the other locales.
Jeff Mangum skulked onto stage last night to vocally contribute during the culminations of three stage-crowded collective performances. I don’t know if it’s his demigod status, but he stood monstrously yet awkwardly over the others in a flannel shirt that he’s probably been wearing for the past five years. He appeared almost nauseous at times and wrestled his fellow bandmates when he didn’t know what else to do. But when it came down to it, his distinct, desperate, jarring voice rang through the music every time; and I couldn’t tell you a word he said.
The concert was a fun variety show. Every song was performed by a combination of Elephant 6 players anywhere between size 2 and 12. They had two drum sets, 4 guitars, 2 basses, a few banjos, some organs and keyboards, trumpet, french horn, sousaphone and the singing saw! It was a ridiculous, enjoyable, 3-plus hour amalgamation of lo-fi sound. Oh and Scott Spillane and Julian Koster performed “The Fool” from In The Aeroplane Over The Sea with the trumpet and accordian, respectively.
Kevin said:Elf Power is my favorite E6 band. That’s all. I have nothing else to add. Carry on.
that’s interesting kev. i dig elf power and paris and i both agreed their sets were the weakest. i mean, we still enjoyed it, but maybe they just picked the wrong songs to perform.
it would have been nice if the band performed more than one neutral milk hotel song, especially since three of ’em were there. they should even invited miles kurosky and john vanderslice along!
Well Mangum fucking played Engine in the crowd in Pittsburgh and Ohio.
Seriously though, listen to the song, it’s like he’s never stopped and “Engine” is a brand new song.
