Yeah, I’ll be downloading it tonight. I played through Mega Man 2 for the first time in years on Sunday and felt depressed by how easily I soared through it in one go. Imagine what life I would be living if I spent it training for something useful.
Please don’t change the title. It reminds me of the time on The Simpsons when Homer sees a free trampoline in the paper and runs out of the house excitedly screaming “TRAMPOPOLINE! TRAMMAPOLINE!”
Honestly, I think the “get through the game without missing a single shot” or “get through the game in as few jumps as possible” achievements might be even harder.
But yeah. This game is unfuckingbelievable how spot on it is. I had to tear myself away from it to get some work done. I’ve got four bosses left, but none of them seem weak to any of the weapons I have. So I’m stumped.
I played for about an hour and the only boss I beat was Galaxy Man. I laughed every time I died, making the sort of mistakes that a 10-year old Justin would eventually (through excruciating trial and error) memorize to avoid. It’s got the old stuff!
Really, there’s a level of art direction that impresses the hell out of me. The poorly written text getting chopped up and awkwardly split across the intro screens is the sort of subtle touch that amuses me to no end. It’s a loving handjob of fan service that still manages to be a good game.
Another spot-on Penny Arcade comic.
