PC Games on the Mac

So some crazy shit happened when Spore was released for the mac. Read more if you’re interested in the how and why, but if not, just click here to get taken to the pirate bay page for half life II for the Mac. In the description, you’ll see links for ep 1, 2 Portal, and Counter Strike.

So EA, rather than recompile their games direct for Mac OS, are using the transgaming Cider product that basically simulates a teeny tiny windows environment in which these games can run.

The cool thing is that people are starting to rip open Spore’s implementation and just replacing Spore.exe with othergame.exe. Apparently Oblivion is next. I’m pumped for video games.

Wisdom

You see, in those days I was six feet four inches tall and I weighed 150 pounds. Recently, I had some structural engineers run those numbers into a computer model and, according to the computer, I collapsed in 1987, killing hundreds in Taiwan.

About The Scrabbled

The Scrabbled is a group of people blogging about and linking to all manner of things. Usually we argue and make fun of each other. Everybody knows everybody through somebody so there are no strangers here. Most of us have even met in real life! If you happen to personally know someone here and would like to start arguing with and/or making fun of someone, shoot John an email and ask to sign up. Otherwise, you're just going to have to read in relative silence. Sorry.
