i’m okay with corn being in my food and even soybeans. i mean, that shit is healthy. but why must something so overly processed and sickly sweet be jammed into absolutely everything? just because it’s cheap doesn’t mean it needs to be thrown into every goddamn bit of food we eat. ugh.
corn=okay, hfcs=wtf/why?
i am just more and more inclined to start making my on bread and crackers and such.
If your diet consisted of nothing but fresh corn and edamame, then yes. It’s incredibly unhealthy. Carbons and proteins as generated by certain foods have certain signatures and we need a variety of these signatures or our cells start to fuck up. It’s much more complicated than that, of course, but that’s the short version.
Basically, nutriontionism is a junk science scam and the best thing we can do is eat a large variety of whole, unprocessed foods.
Pollan gets in your head, man.

well, no shit on that. i’m not an idiot and i do eat other things, hence i am not dead. i was just trying to make a point that corn is healthy. soybeans are healthy. veggies and greens and all that. basically it’s stupid to take something naturally good for you and fuck it up in a factory so much that it’s indistinguishable from its original form and even THEN to throw it in everything else we eat.
John said:Oh, I misread. I thought you were saying that it’s fine that it’s in everything. I reread and it makes sense now.
So… yes. I concur.
okay good, i am glad. for a minute there i thought one of us was going a little insane.
