Solar Energy

Every once in a while I run into articles about stuff you hippies will be interested in. I like you guys because you’re the type of hippies that shower.

Anywho, they’re toying with new applications for solar as a renewable energy source in the 98% part of Australia that is arid (I did a report on Australia in the 4th grade). Anywho, it aims mirrors at graphite where it stores the heat to turn stored water into superheated steam that turns turbines. It’s a pretty cool concept.

Huh! That sounds very cool. I also read something recently about some dudes at MIT that dramatically increased the efficiency of solar panels by filtering light towards the edges of the panels where the collectors are. It’s crazy to me that half the world isn’t solar by now. It makes so much more goddam sense than coal or nuclear.

About The Scrabbled

The Scrabbled is a group of people blogging about and linking to all manner of things. Usually we argue and make fun of each other. Everybody knows everybody through somebody so there are no strangers here. Most of us have even met in real life! If you happen to personally know someone here and would like to start arguing with and/or making fun of someone, shoot John an email and ask to sign up. Otherwise, you're just going to have to read in relative silence. Sorry.
