Has been rock bands
It’s my lot in life to hang out with has-been rock bands… or at least be in close proximity to them. You may remember last year Casie and I hung out with the Gin Blossoms. Well last night, I was eating at Don Pablos in Moorestown and guess who was also there? Collective Soul! They had a pretty cool tour bus if nothing else.

Wow. This I think would be one of those Bader-Meinhof (I think I butchered that, but you know what I mean) things. I was trolling John’s computer looking for some music. I saw one of the folder’s was Collective Soul. I figured that John, much like myself has folders on his computer for bands that he has 1 song by for some random reason. I have plenty of those myself. So trying to remember what the name of the song(s) they sang I clicked on the folder, only to see that John actually has an entire album by Collective Soul. I thought that was odd. Then this.
O.K. it probably isn’t the prime example of this sydrome/complex/whatever you call it, but still.
That’s awesome. Sadly I’ve never been in proximity to a washed up rock group.
The closest I’ve come was covering a piece of crap story at the NY Hall of Science two years ago. I was just kinda hanging out in the back of this room and got to talking to one of the AV guys for the place, turns out he was the tour manager for the Ramones. But i guess the Ramones are more, well, dead than washed up. it was still neat though.

Some trivia: Can anyone tell me what the hell he says during the chorus of “December” WITHOUT looking up the lyrics? In particular the part where he whips out the 90’s alternarock vedder voice. I’m guessing no.
Yep, a whole album. And not a “greatest hits” or anything of that sort. I found it equally strange.
What song is December? I would know their songs if I heard them but can’t say I know the names or anything.
