Market @ Comcast Center
i just started working in Philly again and happen to be in the Suburban Station building. i realized today that the station itself connects to the Market at the Comcast Center so i checked it out this afternoon during lunch.
it was surprisingly smaller than i thought it would have been, although that is probably due to no duplicate types of businesses there. one place for pizza, one for sushi, one for antipasto and sandwiches, etc.
DiBruno Brothers is there, as is a fresh seafood counter with absolutely everything you might want to bring home for dinner. there is also a well-packed produce place. the prices themselves are actually very reasonable and in some cases, cheaper than a grocery store. a pack of “cherry” heirloom tomatoes that would be $4 or $5 at Whole Foods or Wegman’s was only $1.99 and the prepackaged sushi was about $2 cheaper than at Wegman’s, too. i will be getting fresh things for dinner there at least once a week.
the only crappy part of the new job is that we’re not allowed on the internet for personal use. i haven’t talked to anyone to see if they just ignore that rule and avoid porn, but i’m only 3 days old there. they have designated computers to use on breaks for intratoob usage, but it has to be off the clock. bugger.
