great post. this has definitely happened to me. i must think of some examples.
That happened to me once in a college physics course when I first heard the word “tantamount”. Then I heard it about 3 other times in that same week.
This also happened several years ago where in a weeklong span, I encountered no less than 5 Jeep Wagoneers, which is strange considering that those had not been produced since the 80s.
I ran into your mom one day, now it’s like I’m seeing her every night at the same motel.
I greatly fear what putting the “thingsthatwillkillhutch” tag on this post means.

Oh, I actually had a reason for putting that tag on there, John.
I imagined that you’d go on the internet one day and discover that a pack of wolves is sometimes referred to as “a route of wolves”. The Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon would then draw your attention to the route of wolves surrounding you at that moment and you’d cherish the bizarre feeling of deja-vu as you were torn asunder.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA. DAMNIT.
