According to ESPN.com the Phils traded for Joe Blanton (5-12 4.96 ERA)

this is a move basically to move Eaton out of the rotation. hopefully they just realize it was a mistake signing the guy in the first place and take their loss on him.
but that is prolly only the case if Myers can come back with some goodness.
Although it seems logical that the switch from the American to the National league will be a good thing for Blanton (and any other pitcher really), I think he might actually have a tougher time because of his new home park. Oakland is a very easy park to pitch in and now he’ll be in a bandbox in Philly. He’s still an upgrade, but I would temper my expectations if I were a Phillies fan.
