Bloomberg is definitely better than Gulliani. He’s a lot less shady for one thing, and he’s much more level headed and reasonable and actually considers the thoughts and needs of the people in the city he’s governing. Gulliani may have cleaned the place up which is good but he was such a monumental thug about everything that it was more of a pain in the ass than anything else.
I generally like Bloomberg too, but I like his ideals more than some of his governmental practice. I especially love little things like this and the slew of environmental initiatives he’s implementing all over the city that are generally geared towards making the city a better place to be.
How he tackles some of the larger projects is another thing though. The backdoor deals trying to push home something like congestion pricing apply a healthy coat of slime to his veneer.
Then you have his administration’s practice of failing to supply city services to an area to legally justify taking privately owned land through eminent domain to give it to a private developer. He loses me there.
So yeah, for me, generally think the guy has done well with a few really big buts. I also practically follow the guy around for a living, so I might be biased.
