Philadelphia Brewing Company
Philadelphia Brewing Company has released the first of its seasonal brews……. Fleur de Lehigh.
This brew is a nod to old tyme beverages – the kind of styles being re-invigorated by Belgians and Italians and foresighted Americans. The emphasis is on a unique line up of herbs and spices. If you must conform to styles think Belgian Pale … with herbs and spices: Cardamom, Ginger, Lemongrass, Rose hips, and Rhubarb root.
Available only on draught and only while supplies last. Here’s who has it so far:
- The Abbaye
- Atlantis The Lost Bar
- Devil’s Den
- The Dive
- Grey Lodge
- The Khyber
- London Grill
- Memphis Taproom
- POPE (Pub On Passyunk East)
- Standard Tap

That beer sounds pretty awesome. I regret that I will most likely not get the opportunity to try it.
What do we have here (The Scrabbled) as far as beer nerds are concerned? My friend Harry (who I know at least a few of you know) and I just bought our first home brew kit this weekend and I’m currently doing a ton of reading about brewing and what not.
Anyone ever make it down to Dogfish Head in Delaware and/or read Sam Calagione’s book Brewing Up a Business?
My Uncle Bob is a hardcore beer nerd and has made some really impressively good beers. Previously he lived on a peach orchard and made some great Peach beer. I don’t know if he’s still doing it, though. If not, I should ask him for his gear. Well, maybe when I find a spare bathtub.
I definitely have to try some of this new beer, though. I don’t know any of those other places, so perhaps a trip to the khyber i sin order.
got over to the memphis taproom in fishtown last nite to eat and try out the fleur de lehigh. first time there and it’s a pretty cool space. overall, i really liked the beer. lots of floral notes and some spice. it seems to be getting really mixed reviews but everyone drinking it at my table really liked it
