John is hungry

Hulu is now officially "pretty cool"

Hulu is NBC and News Corp’s joint online venture to put up TV programming online. Up until this point, it’s been fairly worthless. Not much programming anyone would actually want to go online to view. But just last week, they started adding full episodes of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, free and “with limited commercial interruption.”

Apparently they’ll be adding some PBS content later this month, including Nova and Wired Science, so that should be cool as well.

I like it, but I just don’t understand why if they offer a show’s episodes on line why they only have a few select ones and also how they choose. I can see not offering them on line because you want people to watch them. But once you do why not put full seasons up. Like I saw they had Battlestar Galactica which I’ve been meaning to watch but they have 1 season and only 3 randomly scattered episodes.

Yeah, that’s part of what made it ridiculous and a laughing stock for the longest time. But hopefully daily show and colbert episodes every day is the start of a new mentality.

Yeah, even if it was a matter of only having the most recent season on line so that you could catch episodes you missed, but not the older seasons that they wanted you to buy on DVD. It will be interesting to see where they go with this.

Fancast seems a tad better than Hulu, although they’re basically the same thing. Once in a while you’ll get an entire series streaming there, the other day I noticed they have every episode of Friday Night Lights. I doubt I’ll watch it, but it’s there just in case I get the urge.

Hmm….Friday Night Lights is another show I’ve been meaning to catch. Good to know.

Yeah that’s one of those shows people rave about, and I’m sure I’d like it if I gave it a chance…but I just really hate football.

So do I. In fact nobody hates football more than I do.
