Check out the latest Unmanned Ground Vehicle the Army is about to employ.

Pretty interesting back-story as well regarding the two brothers who created this thing in their backyard. From what I hear Discovery will be doing a 12-part American Chopper type series following development of this bad boy.

Oh, and don’t worry, it will have guns soon enough.

You’re not kidding. The one that will eventually be on the ground killing people will probably be bigger and faster too.

I spent my Memorial Day in a park reading Thoreau and woke up this morning to work on this. I am a conflicted, awful person.

What is “the technology?” It looks like a toy, not a military vehicle…

I mean what the hell does it do besides loop-de-loo’s in a muddy field?

Well, it’s unmanned first of all. The thing you see now essentially IS a toy, it’s just a prototype built by two dudes in their garage. The military configuration will be much different in the end, and have all sorts of cameras/sensors/weapons on it. The main advantage that this thing has is speed – it can do almost 90 mph. That’s intense for a tracked vehicle.
