The final fantasy is absurdly addictive. It’s a little warcraft-esq, where you build various buildings in your city that let your guys do certain things. You never actually engage in battles. You just send your city-folk off to do them for you. So it’s all about kingdom management. It’s kinda cool, and more than a bit addictive.
Also, it’s a very different city building type game. You never actually leave your town. You just build houses which spawn children who grow up into adventurers with various stats. Then you send them out looking for gold to pay for improvements or to fund new adventures and some crystal that you use to build new buildings with. The only annoying part so far is the reliance on interacting with your villagers to make them happy.
Hmm. I might pick up a cheapo SD card beforehand just because I have an irrational fear of deleting them and having the Wii Store throw back its head and roar with laughter. “What? Streets of Rage 2? We don’t remember you downloading that, you silly bitch! Gimme another eight bucks!”
I’m curious about LostWinds, too. It looks like side-scrolling Okami-lite. And Okami’s out on Wii now. I got it for PS2 a while back and it’s one of the greatest non-Zelda Zelda games EVER. Everyone should try it.
