plz help
when you don’t wanna spend the $$ on a brand new imac, what do you do?
you revamp your old one!!
the imac almost lost herself during a power outage last week. a friend over at the apple store is helping me out a bit with a new $12 battery and free installation, but she’s up in age so we need some plastic surgery.
any suggestions on a good external to back up my stuff on?

What do you do? You build a fake mac out of PC parts and install the hacked Leopard. Y’know… if you’re into that sort of thing. Which I’m not.
The western digital mybooks are pretty great for external storage.
what are we lookin at price wise? for how many gigs?

i have a WD MyBook and it’s great. i’ve also got one of their Passport travel drives for my laptop.
does anyone know the seagate brand of externals???
seagate makes great drives in general, so you know what’s inside that enclosure will be decent. But I dno’t know anything about the enclosure itself.
the one you sent is only a one year warranty. the one i was talking about (and think i sent you john) has a five year warranty. OH BOY!
