Alcoholic Beverage of Choice
One of my final assignments for the beverage operations class i am taking involves a survey about alcohol. Assuming you drink some kind of alcoholic beverage (it could be at any point in your life), could you do my a favor and answer the five questions after the jump. Thanks for your help.
1. What is your name and age?
2. What is your current drink of choice and it’s cost?
3. What was your drink of choice when you were in your early 20’s?
4. Approximately what did you pay for that drink in your early 20’s?
5. What do you think you will prefer 10 years from now?
Comments
1. Steve, 24
2. Single malt, i’ll go with john’s $40 if I purchase a bottle, though Bushie’s stimulus check may go to something a bit nicer in the near future. $7-12 if I get it at a bar here in NYC.
3. Vodka tonic with lime
4. $4-$7 or so
5. A nice red wine, though i’ll probably still enjoy a scotch on occasion.
Kudos on your good taste hutch heh.
The only Islay I’ve had is Laphroaigh. I enjoyed it, but boy jesus will that stuff knock you on your ass. That’s definitely a winter-drinkin’ scotch heh.
I’ve actually been to Islay, but unfortunately it was before I acquired my taste for single malts.
To be honest I haven’t bought a bottle in quite some time. I’m Scottish myself and my entire family lives over there. Since the moment they realized that I liked the stuff I’ve received a steady supply of single barrel scotches each of my family members claims to be “the best on the island.”
Some family friends are visiting this week actually so I might get a new supply. If I do, ill totally bring some down for the yellow party.
My dad has recently been hell-bent on the idea of popularizing single malts in China (he’s a biochemist, but used to work in a distillery). So he’s been in talks with some small distilleries about acquiring the rights to distribute over there. If it actually happens, Stirling Scotches all around!
Kevin , 40. Vodka, usually with Coke and Skyy being the bottle of choice for mixing. $23.00 or there abouts for a 1.75litre bottle. lager was me drink all those years ago (i mean stuff like Fosters or maybe Heineken)cannot truly remember but I would guess about 1.25 great british pounds sterling for a pint in a standard (not city centre) pub. Probably singlr malt scotch exclusively (if I still have a liver that is)
