Ha! That made me chuckle. Mostly because it reminds the similar annual ritual of our yearly camping trip where John sends giddy e-mails about how psyched he is and how he is planning on getting up early that he can make the most of the day and make breakfast at the campsite, only to be followed like clockwork by a 2PM call the next day from Gosia telling us that he’s just waking up now and they’ll hopefully be leaving soon. As my daughter stands by the window, bedecked in her camping gear, shedding a lonely tear and asking why Uncle John loves to sleep more than he does hanging out with her.
