Call me crazy, but isn’t the Olympics a gathering of athletes vying for success in individual and team human achievement? Wasn’t it created by bitter enemy city states as a means of briefly dropping national division in favor of sporting competition? And isn’t the Dalai Llama the figurehead of a deposed system of oppressive theocratic monarchy who’s embraced only because he has a good pr firm and every idiot who wants to seem worldly embraces buddhism?
