I was just thinking about this the other day while listening to Revolver on the way back from Princeton. I think it might be I’m Only Sleeping at the moment. Such a great song and a good wake-up call when I get too wrapped up in my own bullshit.

Blue Jay Way may be in my top 5 favorite Beatles songs. Actually a lot of George Songs are. And he had my favorite post-beatles album with “All Things Must Pass�.

Although lately There’s a Place and I’m a Loser have been stuck in my head. And I’ve Just Seen a Face is a perfect pop song.

Kev! I’ve been listening to All Things Must Pass all day (hence the Harrison post). It’s also my favorite post-beatles album. I’m not gonna pay any attention to Kev V. up there with his silly reactionary bullshit. If I showed him the White Album and manage to convince him it was Sonic Youth he’d shit. Anyway, this is super fucking hard and I honesty don’t think I could narrow it down to five, but here are the first five that came to mind:

  1. Long, Long, Long
  2. Blue Jay Way
  3. Happiness is a Warm Gun
  4. Dear Prudence
  5. Strawberry Fields

Blackbird’s one of those songs that seems to get better every time I hear it. And I think Within You Without has the best lyrics ever. And I think Kevin obviously fails at music if he can’t find 5 songs to like. WOO WHITE ALBUM!!!!!!! John I forget how to break up lines help please what do I type??

I’m actually curious to know if I’m the only one who thinks Magical Mystery tour is their best album. Jim? We tend to be on the same page, it seems. It was right after Sgt. Pepper before when they had their Regal Psychadelia down pat and just before they started splintering with the White Album and on. Not to put down Sgt. Pepper or the white album, because I think they’re favorites #2 and #3, respectively, I just think Mystery Tour was the crest of their wave of brilliance.

Kev, I’m right there with you. It’s my hands down favorite (with the white album being a close second and Sgt. Pepper being #3 for me).

All this agreement and unity is making uncomfortable.

I like Magical Mystery Tour, but I feel like as a cohesive album it’s not the best. I think it’s got some of the best single tracks of any of the later albums (Fool on the Hill? Awesome. Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, Hello Goodbye, all awesome.) It’s just kind of thrown together compared to the others during that period and afterwards.

Kevin have you ever actually seen the Magical Mystery Tour movie? It’s the next best thing to dropping acid.

My favorite is Abbey Road, followed by the White Album.
