I’ve never read the comics but why was I under the impression that it was more…..subtle? Meaning not quite so costumey and traditional superhero style. if you didn’t tell me what those pictures were from in advance I would have guessed it was “The Punisher Meets Batman and Robin (featuring guest appearances by Darkman and a stripper)” hybrid movie.
Yeah, you see, the thing about the comic is… I think it was a little over the top to as a kind of satire of comic book heroes in general. I mean… think about Batman… If someone came up to me in a Batman costume, no matter how much of my ass he kicked, I’d still laugh in his fucking face.
Superheroes are stupid.
I am absurdly excited for this.
And Kev, the comic is more about what the world would be like if there really were super heroes. They’re no less super-heroey in appearance and demeanor, they just act like real people and do real people things when they’re not out saving the world. The basic premise is that society eventually revolted against vigilantism and the super heroes were forced to hang up their collective capes and cowls.
