Any Imovie users on here?

I know there are more than a couple mac users…

..John inducted me into the cult back in December and I’ve not looked back. Which is good for John because part of my agreeing to buy a mac was contingent on his personal guarantee that if anything went wrong with it in the first year that I could freely and swiftly kick him in the nuts. I still have a few months to go on that warranty, but so far I’ve got no worries (nor does he).

Anyhow, since he admits he has not used imovie all that much to know the answer to my question I figured I’d pose it here.

When importing movies how do you change the year that it imports it under? I have about 15 folders, 1 for each year of home movies I have. The problem is that I converted them all to dv/avi files in 2005. So when I got to import them as folders it stores them all under 2005 and doesn’t let you change the year.

Any recommendations on either changing that or on how to change the date codes on files?

I’m guessing if John didn’t know, and my attempts on mac user message boards didn’t yield any results that I’m not going to be luckier on here. But figured I’d at least try.

That’s what kills me is that it SHOULD be an easy solution. But it’s not. And now John may have to be kicked in the nuts as a result. It’s true. I’m not sure if he read the sub-clauses of the warranty but it is most definitely in there.

Whatever happens, I think you should make a video (with imovie, of course) documenting this kicking you keep talking about.

Kev, have you tried heading to the apple store genius bar? They usually come up with answers for me.

Oh, now John chimes in with a suggestion. Kick him in the junk! Kick him in the junk!

No, I may do that. Check the genius bar that is, not kick him in the junk.

But honestly, which would be more temporarily gratifying and a finite amount of entertainment for me? Don’t be selfish, think of me.
